Ideally consider purchase of the ruby on a Sunday, Monday, or Thursday when the Moon is waxing. It should be mounted and installed for use when the Sun is in Leo and Pushya nakshatra. The other nakshatras ruled by the Sun (Karttika, Uttra Phalguni and Uttarashadha) are also good times.It should be at least 5.5 carats in weight and must be set in yellow gold with the back of the ring or pendant open, so the ruby actually comes into contact with the skin.

2. Rinse it with cow's milk
3. Rinse it with cow's water
